Since 1950, Precision/Master Made Paints, Inc. (PMI) has been in the business of formulating and manufacturing protective and decorative coatings for OEM and maintenance customers.

In 1987, under new management, PMI began directing its technical commitments entirely toward the industrial coatings market. Today, that market continues to be the company’s total emphasis.

Although formulating, manufacturing and delivery are central to our business, we take pride in the amount of time we spend with customers, discussing new technology and different approaches to coating problems. We maintain a state-of-the-art knowledge by attending training programs offered in coating and polymer science and national paint shows.

PMIs primary business is the formulation of specific coatings to meet the exacting requirements of our customers. Custom formulas are developed from information gathered from an on-site visit to your company to determine:

Your specific paint formula is assigned a number in our computer database, facilitating quick reference for formulation of reorders.

The PMI utilizes a fully equipped laboratory to test your coating formula to the desired specifications. standard testing for long-term durability is performed in a salt spray machine, other tests include those for adhesion, hardness, ultraviolet effect, impact resistance, gloss, conductivity. etc.

PMI will work with you to formulate coatings that meet EPA and OSHA regulations. All of our formulas are isocyanate-free, and heavy metals have been eliminated except in a few speciality coatings.

Most recently, PMI is developing and marketing a wide variety of low VOC and waterborne coatings to reduce solvent hazards.
